Abstract
Ethyl 4-bromocrotonate was prepared by the reaction of N-bromosuccinimide6 on ethyl crotonate in the presence of dibenzoyl peroxide,? and unsaturated hydroxy esters were obtained according to the equation above, although in relatively low yield.
