Abstract
A considerable amount of work has been done in recent years on the acyl derivatives of vanillylamine in view of their generic relationship with capsaicin. the pungent principle of red pepper. The attention devoted, however, to the vanillylamides of the purely normal fatty acids has been relatively small, by far the most important contribution on this aspect of the subject being due to Nelson 1).
