Abstract Chlorothiolation of terminal alkynes with sulfenyl chlorides yields anti-adducts without transition-metal catalysts. In sharp contrast, transition-metal-catalyzed chlorothiolation has not been developed to date, possibly because organosulfur compounds can poison catalyst.
