Abstract

Results The enol acetates 2 used in this investigation were prepared by the reaction of the cyclopentanones 1 with isopropenyl acetate in the presence of p-toluenesulfonic acid. In the case of 3-methylcyclopentanone, two isomeric enol acetates were formed in approximately equal amounts. In Table I are listed the ketones and enol acetates used in this work.
