Abstract
Molecules that contain the benzo [b] thiophene substructure often exhibit a broad spectrum of biological activities.[1] For instance, raloxifene (1) and compound 2 have been reported as unique selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) and antitubulin agents.[2] Recently, raloxifene was found to be as effective as tamoxifen in reducing the risk of invasive breast cancer and has lower risk of thromboembolic events and cataracts.[3] Therefore, ...
