Abstract
Abstract Based on competitive reactions and 1 H NMR measurements, it was found that (EtO) 2 P (O) CH 2 I is at least 2–3 orders of magnitude less reactive than other non- phosphorus iodides of the EWG-CH 2 I type (EWG= NC, COOMe, 4-Br-C 6 H 4 CO). MeSCH 2 I turned out to be totally unreactive in the title reaction.© 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Heteroatom Chem 14: 186–188, 2003; Published online in Wiley InterScience (www. ...
