Abstract

Syntheses of the title compounds are described. A method has been developed for the synthesis of 2-methylthio-1, 3-propanedithiol, which on treatment with iodine or sulphurdichloride yields 4-methylthio-1, 2-dithiolane and 5-methylthio-1, 2, 3-trithiane respectively.
