Abstract

Abstract Protocols for the synthesis of C 7-nitropurine nucleosides and nucleotides are described. Each of these nucleotides can completely replace its naturally occurring counterpart in polymerase chain reaction (PCR), generating amplified duplex DNA containing nitropurines.
