Abstract

Chlorination of 1, l-dichlorosilacyclopentane by sulfuryl chloride in the presence of benzoyl peroxide leads to a mixture of p-and a-monochloro isomers in a ratio of 4: l. Dehydrohalogenation of these monochloro isomers by quinoline, pyrolysis, and ferric chloride has been studied.
