Abstract
Finally, we attempted to extend this reaction to add non-aromatic amides to 2-fluoro- lnitrobenzene. In the case of acetamide, the reaction proceeded, but yields were lower (30- 40%) and there were more side products generated-2-nitrophenol from water present in the amide and N, N-dimethyl-2-nitroaniline from dimethylamine produced on extended heating of DMF.
