Abstract

A synthesis of 8-substituted pyrido [2, 1-b] quinazoline derivatives is described involving as the key step the palladium-catalyzed carbonyl insertion reaction of 5-substituted 2-(2- bromoanilino) pyridines. This methodology provides a new and flexible route to the ppido [2, 1-b] quinazoline and related ring systems.
