Abstract

Abstract Thermal isomerization of 1-methyl-2-(3-butenylidene) pyrrolidine (Ib) afforded a mixture of Ib and 1, 2-dimethyl-3-allyl-2-pyrroline (IIIa). Analogous reaction with 1-methyl-2- (3-butenyl)-2-piperidine (IIa) gave quantitatively 1, 2-dimethyl-3-allyl-2-piperideine (IVa) by [3, 3]-sigmatropic rearrangement.
