Abstract

a-(2-Pyridylseleno) carbonyl compounds (A) were prepared by the reaction of ketones or aldehydes with 2-pyridylselenenyl bromide under various conditions (acidic, basic, or after conversion to silyl enol ethers) in good to excellent yields.
