Abstract

In prelirninary communications3 the relationship existing between the electric moment of certain molecules containing an oxygen atom and the oxygen valence angle was discussed. Since this article was first submitted, a paper by Smyth and Walls4 has appeared in which they conclude that the oxygen valence angle in the diphenyl ethers is 121* 5'. They also find that the oxygen valence angles in various heterocyclic compounds vary from 65 to 140' ...
