Abstract

Abstract Reduction and subsequent acetylation of melanochrome, the last UV detectable intermediate in the biosynthesis of eunelanins, leads to the isolation of a crystalline derivative, leucomelanochrome A acetate, identified as 5, 6, 5′, 6′-tetraacetoxy-2, 2′- biindolyl (5).
