Abstract

A new method is described for the regioselective synthesis of multisubstituted pyridine derivatives. Treatment of N-acetyl β-enamino ketones with alkynes in the presence of the rhenium catalyst, Re2 (CO) 10, gives multisubstituted pyridines regioselectively.
