Abstract
Abstract 2, 4, 6-Trihydroxybenzoic acid was converted by partial methylation, formylation, and then reduction into methyl 2-hydroxy-3-hydroxymethyl-4, 6-dimethoxybenzoate (5) which proved different from dimethyldegeranylmelicopol.
