Abstract

h series of Cacyl-1-naphthoxp alcohols and ketones has been prepared and shown to possess activity as anticonvulsants. 1-(4-Acetyl-l-naphthoxy)-Zpropanol is an effective anticonvulsant in mice and rats in doses far below the toxic level. A method is described for the preparation of 4-acetyl-1-naphthol on a large scale.
