Abstract

BY GENE WISE^ AND HERMAN P. LANKELMA s-Aliphatic amines, RINH, react with phosphorus pentasulfide to give thiophosphoric amides. Depending upon reaction conditions a monamide, RsN. PS (SH) r, a mixed diamide, R2N) PS* SH, or a triamide (RNH) aPS is obtained. By further RNH reaction with the amine, the monamide is easily converted to the diamide and the latter to the triamide.
