Abstract
As oxindole forms the core of many complex natural products and is an important pharmacophore, its structure has attracted attention for over a century.[1] The oxindole structure has been constructed by the formation of a lactam from aniline,[1a] Wolff–Kishner- like reduction of isatin,[1b] oxidation of indole,[1c] transition metal catalyzed intramolecular amidation,[1d–f] and the Heck reaction.[1g, h] However, a concise method is still required ...
