Abstract

Abstract X-Ray crystallographic investigation of the product obtained by acylation of 1, 2, 3- trimethoxybenzene with 3, 4-dimethoxyphenylacetyl chloride is reported. The IR and NMR spectral studies in solution are in agreement with the crystal structure. The structure confirms the distorted tetrahedral arrangements around the methylene group as observed for other deoxybenzoins.
