Abstract
Methods for the preparation of trialkylacetic acids include carbonation of Grignard reagent^,^^^ alkylation of esters, ketones, and nitrile^,^-^ hydrogenation of alkenyldialkylacetic e~ ters,~,'~ reaction of carbon monoxide under pressure or in situ with olefins, alcohols, alkyl chlorides, or esters, ll oxidation of ketones and olefin^,^**^^ aiid rearrangement of at-bromo ketones. 14 These methods often suffer from the ...
