Abstract

The electrical discharge reactions of CF2= CF2/Br2, CF2= CF2/BrCF2CF2Br, and BrCFgCFZBr were studied. In the CF1= CF2/Br2 system, the major products (63%) were identified as perfluoro-cup-dibromoalkanes. Minor amounts of perfluoroalkanes, 1- bromoperfluoroalkanes, and an essentially linear bromine-containing polymeric material were also present.
