Abstract

Several substituted benzyl radicals have been generated in liquid cyclohexane by the photolysis of symmetrically substituted dibenzyl ketones. The rate constants for self- termination to substituted bibenzyls, and absorption spectra of the transient radicals, have been measured by optical modulation spectroscopy.
