Abstract 2C13HI4N3" C204, the anion In the title compound,+ 2-is at an inversion centre. The cation has approximate C2 symmetry, with the two phenyl rings oriented anti with respect to the unsubstituted N atom. Bond lengths and angles within the guanidinium moiety are close to those expected for a central Csp2 atom with a small charge delocalization between the three CmN bonds.
