Abstract
Optically active sulfoxides are not only important in organic synthesis as chiral auxiliaries 1 but also important chiral ligands in asymmetric synthesis. 2 Chiral sulfoxides are also found in many natural products and pharmaceuticals. 3 There are two different types of chemical approaches namely direct and indirect methods for their syntheses.
