Abstract
Rhodium (i) complexes are excellent catalysts for the 1, 4-addition of aryl or 1-alkenyl boron,[1] silicon,[2] and tin [3] compounds to α, β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds. Various addition reactions analogous to copper-catalyzed reactions of lithium and magnesium reagents have been carried out that involve a catalytic cycle starting from transmetalation to yield an aryl or 1-alkenyl rhodium (i) intermediate.
