Abstract

Abatract: The reaction of singlet oxygen with 7-thiabicyclo [4.1. O] heptane (cyclohexene sulfide) in methanol has been investigated. The first example for epoxidation of olefins by the active oxidizing species generated in photooxygenation of the thiirane is provided. It suggests that the active oxidizing spbcies is probably the peroxysulfenic acid intermediate derived from ring opening of a thiirane peroxide intermediate by nucleophilic attack of ...
