Abstract

Abatract: The reaction of singlet oxygen with 7-thiabicyclo [4.1. O] heptane (cyclohexene sulfide) in methanol has been investigated. The first example for epoxidation of olefins by the active oxidizing species generated in photooxygenation of the thiirane is provided.
