Abstract
6x3 is abstracted as OR-anion by BX,, resulting in the bond order between the transition metal and the carbon atom being incremented by one from two to three. In eq 2, the reaction involves simultaneous removal of the OR group and the CO ligand trans to the carbene carbon and introduction of halogen into the complex.
