Abstract
Some 1-fluoroalkanes (n-alkyl fluorides), o-fluoroalkenes and w-fluoroalkynes were prepared for biochemical studies, and for use as intermediates in the synthesis of other compounds. Whereas no clear-cut conclusions could be drawn regarding the biochemical breakdown of 1-alkenes, evidence was obtained for o-oxidation of 1-fluoroalkanes, and, less convincingly, for hydration of 1-alkynes to the corresponding methyl ketones.
