Abstract

Cleavage of silyl protecting groups has been the subject of numerous investigations since the late 1970s. [1] To cope with the various functional group compatibility requirements encountered in the synthesis of diverse target molecules, many methods [2] have been developed for cleaving silyl ethers such as triethylsilyl (TES), tert-butyldimethylsilyl (TBS), triisopropylsilyl (TIPS) and tert-butyldiphenylsilyl (TBDPS).
