Abstract

During our initial investigations into this problem, we had two goals in mind, an oxidation procedure, which would occur under mild reaction conditions without requiring a large excess (10-15 equiv) of oxidant, and a reproducible procedure, which would be applicable to a variety of functionalized fluoroalkyl-substituted carbinols.
