Abstract

Abstract Two methods for the synthesis of unsubstituted diethyl cyclopropylphosphonate are described. One method is a reaction between cyclopropylmagnesium bromide and diethyl chlorophosphite to give diethyl cyclopropylphosphonite, followed by oxidation with sodium periodate to the corresponding phosphonate.
