Abstract

Direction of the pyrolytical elimination in CH3~ CH (OCOCH3)-CH2SR was examined with respect to the temperature-and time-dependence. When the pyrolysis is brief and conducted at lower temperatures, the allyl sulfides predominate. On the other hand,(E)-and (Z)- propenyl sulfides are the principal products at elevated temperatures due to the preferential pyrolysis of allyl sulfides.
