Abstract: Diethylmethylamine is the simplest acyclic trialkylamine that possesses the requisite symmetry that allows, in principle, the direct observation of both nitrogen inversion and isolated nitrogen-carbon bond rotation using 'H dynamic nuclear magnetic resonance (DNMR) spectroscopy.
