Abstract

It has been shown that fluoro-substituted aliphatic acids reacts with xenon difluoride, XeF,, to give unstable derivatives of the type (RC00) ZXe or RCOOXeF'which, in turn, undergo a spontaneous decarboxylative decomposition leading to the formation of fluoroalkyl radicals. 2 This process has been suggested as a new preparative procedure to introduce a fluorinated alkyl framework into a variety of organic molecule^.^ The goal of the present ...
