Abstract
When an excess of phenylmagnesium bromide reacted with n-butylketene dimer, two simple ketones, 6-undecanone and benzophenone, and a di-addition compound, 5-( diphenylhydroxyniethyl)-6-~ ndecanone, were isolated from the reaction products. Analogous compounds were obtained from phenylmagnesium bromide and n-octylketene dimer, but from n-hexylketenedimer, the only identified product isolated from the reaction ...
