Abstract
All the fourteen isomers of naphthalenetricarboxylic acids have been synthesized by the oxidation of trimethylnaphthalenes, dimethylacetonaphthones, dimethylnaphthoic acids, methylnaphthalenedicarboxylic acids, β-(dimethylnaphthoyl) propionic acid, or β- (acenaphthoyl) propionic acids with aqueous sodium bichromate or potassium ferricyanide.
