Abstract

Tetraalkylammonium and pyridinium dichloro-and dibromoiodates (I) were efficiently prepared from iodine and tetralkylammonium chloride or pyridine by oxidation with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of an equimolar amount of a hydrogen halide.
