Abstract

for six hours with 22.8 g. of allyl bromide, 22 g. of potassium carbonate, and 50 ml. of acetone in a nitrogen atmosphere and in the presence of sodium hydrosulfite. The solvent was evaporated and the oily product extracted with ether. The ether schtion was washed repeatedly with 10% sodium hydroxide solution containing sodium hydrosulfite to remove all traces of unreacted 2-methyl-l, 4-naphthohydro-quinone.
