Abstract
Novel thermochromic fluorophores have been prepared, which, upon heating, change from a colorless nonfluorescent state to a colorless strongly fluorescent state. Furthermore, the irreversible change of a thermochromic fluorophore is induced via near-infrared laser light, resulting in a fluorescence contrast with possible applications in high-density optical data storage.
