Abstract
The acyloxy exchange reactions of acyloxysilane with carboxylic acids have been studied kinetically. The rate of reaction has been found to proceed faster with a stronger attacking acid and more basic leaving acyloxy group. The rate was markedly accelerated by the addition of base.
