Abstract

acid (0.150 mol) was suspended in 15 mL of water 0" C, and 50% aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (0.300 mol) was added dropwise. The appropriate xanthate ester (0.165 mol) in 15 mL of methanol was added in one portion.
