Abstract

The microwave spectrum of BH2OH, a transient intermediate in the reaction between diborane and water, has been detected and analyzed. This molecule has also been found in the reaction between diborane and oxygen. The lifetime of BH2OH in a copper waveguide cell is a few seconds, which is much shorter than that of BH (OH) 2. The rotational and centrifugal distortion constants have been determined for the 11BH2OH, 10BH2OH, ...
