Conclusions I. TIBE reacts with Br2 instantly to form a charge-transfer complex that ultimately evolves into a double bond shifted allylic bromide. The reaction with Br2 is slow enough that information about the CTC and its formation constant can be obtained. The CTC formation constant is shown to have a small sensitivity to the nature of the solvent: KAsolvent), 9.71 MI (CH2CICH2C1), 52.5 M-'(methanol), 1.72 MI (acetic acid).
