Abstract
The reaction of the Fe2 (CO) $-dianion with methylene iodide leads to the formation of the parent bridging methylene complex, octacarbonyl (p-methylene) diiron, Fe,(CO) &H,. The reaction appears to be general and several derivatives have been prepared by using other geminal diiodides.
