Abstract

Addition of butyllithium to Ti (q5-C5H5)(q7-C7H7) and subsequent reaction with Ph2PCl afforded the titanium (I1) phosphine Ti (q5-C5H5)(q7-C7wPh2)(3). Complex 3 shows coordinating capabilities, and by displacement of one carbonyl of Ni (C0) 4, Fe (CO) 5, and Mo (CO)~ bimetallic complexes Ti (q5-C5H5)(q7-C7H6PPh2M (CO),)($7) were isolated in which the oxidation state (11) for titanium is retained.
