Abstract
Treatment of alkyl and aryl esters of thiosulfonic acids with primary or secondary amines gave sulfenamides and sulfinic acid salts. Simple alkyl and aryl thiolsulfonatesfailed to undergo a detectable reaction with aromatic amines, but o-nitrophenyl benzenethiolsulfonate (V) reacted with p-anisidine, p-toluidine, and aniline in refluxing ethanol.
