Abstract The development of prostate carcinoma is associated with alterations in fatty acid metabolism. α-Methylacyl-CoA racemase (AMACR) is a peroxisomal and mitochondrial enzyme that catalyses interconversion between the (S)/(R)-isomers of a range of α- methylacyl-CoA thioesters.
