Abstract

The FRIEDEL-CRBFTS'method involving the participation of CS, reported [l] earlier by us for the synthesis of w-carboxypropyl dithioesters was found to be of limited applicability. Therefore, we wish to report in this communication a general and most convenient one-pot method for the preparation of these dithioesters 1 where R represents aryl, alicyclic or aliphatic groups. n
